Cairne has fallen

Our beloved Tauren leader Cairne Bloodhoof has fallen matter of minutes ago. First of all I want to partially congratulate alliance of course. It was a nice attack, it was unexpected (unlike our recent attack on Ironforge) and it I heard the sound of Cairne dieing just when i got there. Nice kill :)

However you could have let out the /spit (ect.) commands at the end. You must know Cairne is the easiest leader of all to kill. Pretty much using the back door and 20 secs of walking gets you there and then he's also carefully guarded by a whopping 3 guards... I can imagine you just wanted to kill him once but go for a harder one next time :) How about a challenge? Try Sylvanas or Thrall, and don't use back doors

I have to say though the /spit emote is probably one the stupidest things I have seen Blizzard do with WoW.

Its offensive. (of course not in the let me rape your wife and burn your kids league of offensiveness :shock: ), but still quite uneeded.

Its simply has no place in an Online Fantasy Game.
AoT dont often raid PVP. But when we do, we have a zero /spit tollerence for all of our members.

What were Bliz thinking.

The Tauren Overlord is indeed down. 8) Congrats to all who were there - it was a quick, surgical strike; fast in and fast out before any resistance had a chance to get organized.

Having said that, I am sorry about any /spitting or otherwise degrading emotes from the Alliance side. I believe insult should never be added to injury, especially not when the battle is won.
It may also be true that Cairne is the easiest leader to get to and kill, but this was our first serious attempt at it and we were shorthanded to boot, so it would have seemed weird to go anywhere else. However, I'll say as much as that the strategy used was more refined than using the back door. 8)

Try Sylvanas or Thrall, and don't use back doors



Sylvanas can be pulled without aggroing Varimathras. Recent raids on other realms say that Thrall is a wuss when it comes to fighting. All horde cities have back entrances. GG bliz.

Nice one Alli's what time did this occur? I was in WPL most of the night and all I saw was SS under attack...silence...SS under attack! I went down to check it out and it was a good Skirmish, around 30-40 a side (roughly) nicely mateched levels etc. Saw Magian and Rond there but no-one else from here. Thanks for the good battle and 3 Cheers for the HLAS(Horde leader assassination squad)!!!

It's an honor to be on an alliance screenie :D Was pretty pissed i was too late so put on my PvP and used psychic scream in the middle of your group once and jumped down with levitate :twisted: Dunno if it had any use but it looked funny 8)

Darnassus would be the best choice since it takes a while for Alliance to get there from Ironforge. But we would have to make sure it comes unexpected and it would have to go fast. Wich is quite hard to do :cry:

You would fly to Zoram Gar, walk to Auberdine/Darkshore, take the boat to Ruth'eran (or something) and then portal into Darnassus. Has been attampted on the day the honor systemw as realeased also I think.

somehow i think this kinda sucks, i mean: what if theese guys just bought the game and they dont know that he got killed? allright, that might not be that kind of a disaster..

but like the raids on XR and TM on PvP-servers, as late, you have to be "leet" to play on one and be able to dodge raid groups hunting for ganks, before you've even started to comprehend the game.

If i hadnt got such a great start in Final EU Beta (played on a PvP-server) with FADER, i wouldve thought "well, screw this. it aint worth my fucking grief.." and continued playing Kotor and TES3: Morrowind.

Be cool if all the NPCs in a town where a leader was killed were busy doing /cry emotes and talking about the death of their beloved leader. Might help clue new players in a bit and give them a sense that something of gravity had just happened.

Ok I admit having joined another forum a year into its existance I was no way able to be among the top posters on there. This forum was reasonably new when I joined so I saw my chance to become one of the top posters on here (dont ask why I dont know, maybe because all the high posters on the other forum got the cool custom ranks and had the most intresting conversations).

You can be an "elite" PvP'er and still not be an elitist. To make it short. My definition of an elitist or "elitism" is the worship of the "elite" - or to put it in dictionary terms: "when things are organized for the benefit of a few people with special interests or abilities".

Related to ingame and experiences therein it would be aimed at those that consider themself elite, and if beaten (in some way meassurable to this person be it PvP or equipment) and made a lesser, the better one is an elite as yourself - just more so. Everyone else not considered on par or above are scum and not worth a twats arse.

Related to this thread (to keep it just a tad on topic) their amusement of those of lower levels than theirself running around looking for the NPC to deliver/get a quest. In this the "n00b" part to me clearly points in the above described direction. I might be overly sensitive though. *shrug*
