I think i created a thread like this one before with a similar concept, but now i have 2 main non-MC etc staffs to farm for and I can't decide which!

I'm torn between Rod Of The Ogre Magi (http://www.thottbot.com//?i=35933)

or

Trindlehaven Staff

I was thinking the ogre magi staff due to the better bonuses, but it's also harder to obtain :/ I'll mostly be using it for PvE content etc, some PvP too of course but as secondary only.

Anyway I thought it would be fun for people to cast their votes over which they prefer! :D

id go for the rod if it was between those 2 staffs,
with the rod of the ogre magi u got 1% crit, which helps and + damage which ull find good to work on if you want to optimise your DPS,
i wouldnt ever consider the trindlehaven!!

btw get a +30 spellpower enchant on the rod and it'll be even more powerful

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll go for the rod too even if it is more difficult to get and the +spell power will be amazing.

Now I just need to do a few DM runs :D

I've been trying to get the rod of the ogre magi myself for ages now .. Trying to get some help doing tribute runs to DM .. Problem is, everyone else is too busy with MC and Onyxia and stuff .. I work odd hours, so I don't always get the opportunity to join in on MC and Onyx ..

Well .. some beautiful day I might get to hold that rod in my hands :-)

Else, I'm saving up for the Staff of Dominance :-)

I keep trying to find a group for DM too but have the same problem.. most people never want to go there and prefer other places :(

I'll keep trying though :D

Rod is best weapon for mages before MC; so if u cant go in MC to get staff of dominance or azuresong mageblade go in DM and get it one:D. Ofc enchant it with +30 SP.

While you are there you should also consider to farm for the Sublime Wristguards (http://www.thotbott.com/?i=35879). This drops off a guard in the courtyard just inside DM north. You can try to get this 4-5 times before the instance limit hits you. This is one of the best wrist pieces before the high-end stuff. It is easily grinded for in 5-10 minutes each attempt. Just kill one lone guard (and the patrol if you feel like it) and pull the Guard Mol'Dar across the courtyard up to the entrance for killing.

Unfortunatly this is at a rare 5% droprate which is slighty less than the 8% droprate of the rod of the ogre magi. But of course an eon easier accessable. the problem is to get a party togheter to grind for this due to the fact that it is for you. Not much to gain for them.

Sublime Wristguards
Binds when picked up
Wrist Cloth
37 Armor
+6 Stamina
+10 Intellect
+6 Spirit
Durability 30 / 30
Requires Level 55
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 12.

he also drops a cloak with +1% crit spell chance.

and ofc you can always do tribute runs 3 man :P (check out the video).
we also do it 4 man on a regular basis, or let thex tag along :P

i spent so much time getting my WH kit...after doing DM for a while i've started using the leather that drops there instead, druids paradise.
