it seems to me im the only paladin in our server to use Seal of Fury. i let the warriors do there taunting on the main mobs, but ofc the healers are gonna aggro the adds or sidemobs. thats where paladins are great...if ppl use god damn seal of fury. for those that dont know seal of fury increases the aggro u generate when hitting a mob...its ideal for getting mobs off healers and casters.

if a paladin crits a mob when using seal of fury they can de-aggro a warrior using taunt (kinda stupid thing to do). Drogo was test dummy for this srry bro ;)

hope u pallys check ur spell book and start using this seal. our aggros SoC any day.

SoF FTW

Well i disagree however...

Its hard to say really. Everyone has different opinions about it. Were i would say the paladins would be the best judge.

Me personally. I don't really think it works but at the same time i've seen it work. What i disagree with is taking it back once a caster has taken it. SoF works on building up aggro. Alone one swing of your weapon does not deal enough threat to take back from casters. Paladins arent damage deals so as you can see SoF already isn't going to work.

Now heres were my "however" comes into play.

Sof works with building up aggro. Though more often than not, people attack too soon and don't give time to build up aggro. Were as warriors have an instant "i piss you off" button(taunt) and a range of attacks that deal aggro, though sadly many warriors don't understand how to tank and in all honesty i can out tank them. Of course your not going to see a paladin main tank in Molten core but outside sure.

Judge sof and using concencrate also does a large amount of threat and helps keeping the aggro. When i've offtanked an add in UBRS, i won't ever lose the aggro, why? Because i've had like 20 seconds to build it up, thats why.

So i disagree with it being good for which you stated "taking aggro back off casters" but for tanking, its fine. I'm sure warriors will disagree, but lets face it, they don't want to be replaced.

Give me your sword and you can take my place, any day, any time, any instance.

Honest!

Tib's got it right on the mark - pallies are great for off-tanking, but you won't be pulling aggro off a caster without beating on it for a good while (SoF or otherwise) first. They have no snap aggro.

Besides, you can't de-aggro a warrior using Taunt. Nothing can. It doesn't generate any threat whatsoever - you get aggro, simple as. The thing is - pallies can probably hold aggro better on one mob than a warrior, as the poor war' won't have enough Rage building up. Maybe even two. Three or more? Forget about it. :P SoF rules for threat, yes, but make sure you're supposed to be off-tanking that mob - otherwise you're as bad as a pet with Growl on.

Ill rather have a good palla offtanking, then a poor warrior in any instances besides MC. If a paladin knows how to keep the aggro on a few mobs, fine by me, means less work for me :) It all come down to teamplay, getting the mobs down smooth and swiftly. Imo too many forget about this, and some warriors Ive played with seems to think the dmg.taken stats are more important then doing a smooth raid :)

And a palla can make a good tank and keep aggro well, untill he runs out of mana, then the duracelleffect of rage comes to its right :)

my main point was that most paladins dont know this seal exists...ive been using it since lvl 16 (yes u get it that early u silly paladins...). quite oftern i find myself in a grp with 2 pallys and no warriors. so ofc one pally has to run around with SoF and concerrateing while the other gens as little threat as possible..

yeh warriors will always be the "im gonna stamp on your foot so you hit me"

nope, never use SoF, i only put 5 talent points in it for the fun of it :)

give me 10secs OTÃÂ*ng and only a warr taunt gets it off of me, plus we can help heal ourselfs, which makes us even better at OT.

hmmm i only use SoF i i am gonna tank from the start. or else i just use SoC and HoJ. that has always worked for me.(but ok i use a damn nice mace (better then reaper))

i find SoF damn nice for tank, becaus with consecration and any other holy seal, it makes sick threat(never seen a a mob pulled of me)

reason why i keep SoC on, is that i normaly do get nice damage from it(got alot of 1k hits today). and then use HoJ to stun em. so i have time to do some more damage. and it works..... (but i still keep spamming consecration for more damage and threat.)(got 5 to 6k mana when buffed (depends what i have with me), so spamming consecration is easy)

anyway i am not that big a fan of tanking.(let tib get all the hits :P) i am more the healing and damage type :P

Reason why you dont see too many paladins use fury is because they are not into their class. They dont use BoP or DI, cant tank, dont judge, dont heal ect.

SoF is excellent for tanking. Judge it, use seal and lay a consecration and you will keep aggro. I have never had any problems tanking in instances. I dont really need to build up aggro as the consecration creates such a big threat.

As for pulling a mob off a caster - thats no problem at all. If you do it right, youll have aggro in no time.

yup, meet a pally who didnt have DI, or even changed divine protection for divine sheild (which is a loss of 4 seconds immunity from attack, also u can attack (at 50% of normal) with shield, no attack can be made with protection.

Yeah, that was annoying, really annoying.
Anyway, I was in a group yesterday with some damage-dealers, but by using SoF I maintained aggro.
So, SoF is handy if there isnt any warriors around
