This trailer - which is shown just before the Transformers flick - has been causing quite a stir online because no one seems to know what it is about (studio is being very tight lipped). The trailer looks pretty interesting and I'm curious about what you folks think.

As much as I would love it to be Godzilla, unfortunately that seems unlikely as the company that has the rights to Godzilla (Toho) have stated that the Godzilla franchise is on hold until 2017 sometime - not sure of the exact date.

So what else could be 'pewpew lolrain of fire' on NYC?

The last western Godzilla film - the Roland Emmerich one - sucked so much ass, I wish they would make a decent one. Then again, I'm quite happy to watch re-runs of the Japanese classics with Godzilla taking on Mothra. ^^

Well the inside news from what I've read is the monster is called 'The Parasite', atleast as a code name. Theres plenty of rumouring and stuff if you google/youtube cloverfield.

IMO you can't make a decent movie about a giant lizard created by nuclear tests running into NYC smashing up the place.. i've only seen one of them, so maybe the other ones are better.. Id sleep better at night if they didn't make another one tho
